Year 4 – Swimming Success! Year 4 have made a fantastic start to their swimming lessons this week! The children have shown great confidence, enthusiasm and resilience as they build their skills in the pool each day. It’s been wonderful to see how supportive they’ve been of one another – a real reflection of our Stoke values. Swimming will continue every day next week, with pickup at 3:30pm.
Staffing Update This term, we’ve said both hello and goodbye to some members of our Stoke team, and we’d like to share a few updates with you.
We have recently said goodbye to Mr McGarrity, who has taken on a new role as an SSO at another local school. He contributed so much to Stoke, always going above and beyond for our children and families. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him all the very best in his new position. Recruitment is currently underway for a new SSO to join our team.
We were delighted to welcome Mrs Pate, who joined us this year as our new School Business Manager. We’ve also welcomed several new Learning Support Assistants: Mrs Forain (Year 6), Mr Williams (Year 5), Mrs Bane (Reception), and three new apprentices in Early Years – Miss Ahad, Miss Spence, and Miss Jackson.
We were also pleased to welcome Miss Evans, who has joined us as our new Nursery Teacher, and Mrs Sandhu, who will be teaching across Year 1 and Year 2 from Wednesday to Friday each week.
In addition, Miss Parker and Mrs Morris have both stepped into Deputy Headship roles this term. Miss Parker will oversee Teaching and Learning, and Mrs Morris will lead on Inclusion across the school. In addition, Mrs Fox has taken on the role of Assistant Headteacher, overseeing our Foundation Years.
We’re incredibly proud of our dedicated and talented team, and grateful for all they do to make Stoke such a special place for our children.
Year 3 – RSE Meeting Thank you to the Year 3 parents and carers who attended the RSE meeting this week. It was lovely to have you join us, and we really appreciate your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning.
Children in Need 2025 Today we have been celebrating Children in Need! Pupils came to school in their own clothes and enjoyed supporting this brilliant cause. Thank you for your donations and enthusiasm – it’s been wonderful to see so many smiling faces around school today!
Next week, on Friday, we will have another own clothes day. Instead of bringing money, we ask that children bring in cakes as a donation for our after-school cake sale.
Pupil Premium and Free School Meals A reminder that families may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, which provides additional financial support to help enhance learning opportunities and wellbeing across school. Even if your child has packed lunches, registering still benefits the school and our children. If you haven’t already checked your eligibility, please visit: https://www.coventry.gov.uk/benefits-1/free-school-meals/2, or ask at the school office for a form.
