Attendance
We, at Stoke Primary School, recognise attendance is everyone's responsibility. Whether it's the class teacher or parent, we all play a part in helping our children attend school regularly and on time.

Attendance is monitored daily by the Family Team, and where there may be worries about a child's attendance, we will always look to support first, and work with parents/carers to help improve attendance.
If you are worried about your child's attendance, please get in touch with the Family Team who are more than happy to meet to you.
In the meantime, here are some attendance reminders to help with your child's attendance:
1. School starts at 8:55am. Nursery starts at 8:45am. If your child arrives after this time, they are recorded as late. Please allow plenty of time for your journey.
2. If your child is ill, it is your responsibility to let school know on each day of absence. Please use the Studybugs App to do this. The Family Team may ask for medical evidence if your child is absent for a number of days.
3. Please be specific with why your child is absent. We won’t authorise absence for reasons like ‘feeling unwell’ or ‘feeling tired'.
4. Please do not use the description ‘sick’ unless your child has vomited.
5. If you do not report your child’s absence by 9:30am, you will receive an automated message from Studybugs. It is important you respond and state why your child is absent.
6. If you do not contact school with why your child is absent, the Family Team will phone or may conduct a home visit.
7. Please make all medical appointments outside of school hours where possible. If your child does have a medical appointment in school time, please bring evidence so the absence can be authorised. This includes GP, dentist, optician and hospital appointments.
