Video - Year 6 Crumble Project
Using our Crumbles to control a motor and LED's, we made a Merry-Go-Round. We had to insert a switch into the circuit that was used in the programming. If the switch was pressed when the Merry-Go-Round was off, it would make it start. If it was pressed whilst it was going, it would make it stop.
The motor that was used to spin the Merry-Go-Round was fixed at the top of the upright support. The chairs and the chains (string attached to the chair) were fixed to the dome at the top which allowed them to go round when the motor was working.
Some of our Merry-Go-Rounds worked first time, but some of them didn't and we had to check the electrical cables and the programming to fix them. Checking the programming for code faults is called debugging.
