We are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional to all pupils, staff and parents/carers.
We want all pupils, staff parents/carers to know it’s okay to not always feel okay.

How we provide visible senior leadership for mental health and wellbeing:

The Senior Leadership Team have received mental health awareness training and know the signs to look out for. They verbally share they are available should staff need to talk to them.
The Designated Senior Mental Health Lead is always approachable to all pupils, staff and parents/carers.

How our culture, ethos and environment promote respect and value diversity:

We are kind. We are empathetic. We treat each other how we want to be treated. Staff encourage this ethos daily with pupils, no matter their background or ability.

The focus given within our curriculum to promote resilience and support social and emotional learning:

All pupils do PSHE.
All pupils access My Happy Mind every Monday morning as a positive start to the week.
All pupils have access to further support if the need is identified (Mental Health Strategy).

We have created an environment for pupils to feel safe should they need to share their views and feelings.
We have a School Council and in the process of developing the Mini MHAG. (Mini Mental Health Action Group).

Staff are reminded to voice if they are not okay. They know they can talk to SLT or the DSMHL.

How we work in partnership with parents and carers to promote mental health and wellbeing:

We hold Family Fun Afternoons for each year group. Families are encouraged to bring a dish from their native country.
Stoke Primary holds an open-door policy; parents and carers are welcome to come in to talk any time. We pride ourselves on making our parents/carers feel heard and supported.

How we provide targeted support and ensure that we make appropriate referral to support services for pupils/students with particular mental health and wellbeing needs:

Staff know to look at the mental health and wellbeing strategy if they have any concerns about a child and who to refer to.
We have a skilled team of LSAs who can support with social and emotional struggles.
