08.05.26 Dear Parents and Carers,
Café in the PlaygroundThis week, Mrs Stoker and her wonderful parent group hosted their very first Café in the Playground after school and it was fantastic to see so many families getting involved. There was a lovely atmosphere across the playground, with families spending time together, children playing games and parents enjoying the opportunity to chat and connect with one another. Whether you contributed by bringing along food to share or simply stayed behind to spend time with your children and other families, thank you for helping to make the event such a success. A huge thank you must go to Mrs Stoker and the parent group for organising such a positive community event for our school. We are already looking forward to the next one, with Early Years and KS1 families having their turn in a few weeks’ time. Keeping Children Safe OnlineAs more children begin using mobile phones, tablets and other devices, it is increasingly important that parents and carers know what children are accessing online. Technology can be a fantastic tool for learning, creativity and communication. However, it can also expose children to videos, images and conversations that are not appropriate for their age. Recently, we have become increasingly aware of conversations between older pupils that suggest some children may have seen content online that they are too young to access. Regular conversations at home make a huge difference. Talking openly with your child about what they are watching, using parental controls, monitoring apps and setting clear expectations around device use are all important ways to help keep children safe online. Thank you for continuing to work with us to support children both in and out of school. Warm Weather Reminder ☀️With the warmer weather continuing, please ensure your child comes to school each day with a clearly labelled water bottle and sunhat. We also ask that suncream is applied before school each morning so that children are protected during outdoor learning and playtimes throughout the day. Thank you for your support in helping us to keep children safe and comfortable during the warmer weather. Good Luck Year 6We would like to wish all our Year 6 children the very best of luck as they begin their SATs tests next week. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, resilience and determination the children have shown throughout the year and know that they will do their very best. Please ensure children arrive at school early each morning next week so they have time to settle in and enjoy breakfast with us before the start of the day. Over the weekend, we encourage families to focus on rest, routine and wellbeing. Plenty of sleep, opportunities to relax outdoors and a calm start to each morning will all make a big difference in helping children to feel confident and prepared. Good luck, Year 6. We believe in you all. Non-Uniform Day and Cake SaleThursday 14th May will be a non-uniform day and cake sale hosted by our wonderful Aviary team. Further information about how families can take part will be sent out next week. We look forward to another exciting community event in school. Makaton Sign of the WeekThis week’s Makaton sign is finished.
As part of our whole school focus on inclusive communication, we encourage you to ask your child to show you this sign at home and practise using it together in everyday conversations. Year Group AttendanceCongratulations Year 3!
Please encourage your children to wash their hands regularly with soap and water.
All parents will have received their child’s attendance report via email before the Easter holidays. Please take the time to read this carefully, as your child’s attendance is extremely important to their learning and overall progress. Government guidelines state that all children should have an attendance rate of at least 96%. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s attendance, our Family Team will be very happy to support you. Upcoming dates
