Reception

Welcome to Reception, the final year of the Early Years Foundation Stage at our school.

Building on the strong foundations developed in The Meadow and Caterpillar Class, Reception is a year where children continue to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity as learners. Through a balance of play, exploration and carefully planned teaching, children deepen their understanding across all areas of learning while developing the key skills they will need for the next stage of their education.

Reception also plays an important role in preparing children for their transition into Year One, supporting them to become confident, capable and enthusiastic learners ready to move forward in their school journey.
